Danny Harper, Atlanta Jazz Society Board Member & Trumpeter,
is Atlanta’s Best kept Secret! Danny Harper has been playing professionally since the early 80’s. He was also under the instruction of one of the greatest Jazz legends, Donald Byrd.

He is a composer, Educator, and an Internationally known musician and recording artist on Verve and Muse labels. He composed “Quiet As It’s Kept,,” Artist: Harper Brothers; “Song Bird,” Artist: Philip Harper; “Mellow Afternoon,” Artist: Philip Harper; and “Remembrance,” Artist: Harper Brothers, which remained number one on Billboards Traditional Jazz charts for six weeks!

Harper, is the dedicated Host/Director during the Tuesday night jazz jam session at Churchill Grounds since January 2000. He also hosted and directed at the Blue Note Night Club in 1986-87. His band was the first Jazz band to play featuring his wife, Terry Glenn Harper, at the Ritz Carlton, in Buckhead.
